I think it's common knowledge to many that there are other religions which are increasing far faster than JW's. A sister was stunned yesterday when I informed her that there are millions more Mormons than JW's on planet earth!
So there are "other roads" apparently more spacious!

Watchtower Really Does Totally Take The Position of Jesus

then they tell you that they are jehovah's organization and that the flock should obey them.. basically, the watchtower corp. and it's governing body is taking the place of jesus as the mediator for people.
christianity, even by it's name, focuses on making jesus known.

What I really hate....
by Perversion of a truth inis that i was born into this cult, taught and believed that i was going to live forever, , that i was never going to have to die.
now i am in my mid 30's realizing that this life is all there is and that after that i am dead forever and i am terrified.
i don't want this to be all there is, , i don't want to just live a few years on this beautiful planet and then become non existent forever!

Try and start with a clean slate, and put to one side the propaganda that many sources of "teaching" perpetuate.
Don't believe what ANYONE tells you about God or evolution. Base your knowledge/faith in what your personal search uncovers, and what your own heart and mind tell you harmonises with reason.
Whether you decide that there is a supernatural creator of everything in existence or that everything was created by a big bang, is your personal choice.
When I used to have no real knowledge of either choice, I used to tell the guys I worked with, "Just enjoy life as much as you can boys, because this ain't a dress-rehearsal for something better. You're only on this planet for 840 months, so make the most of it!".
Your conclusions are what will give you acceptance and contentment - and peace within yourself.

Hello- new here

a great deal of many thoughtful posts on here but have to say am a bit turned off with the 'rabid apostate' ones!.
my history- was raised in a divided household, mum converted to jw when pregnant with me back in 1970, dad was never jw but was supportive of taking us to meetings, assemblies etc.

Does the WTB&TS - Jehovahs Witnesses truly pass for a not for profit organisation ? in America ? or anywhere else in the world for that matter ?

that there are no shareholders receiving dividends from the money pouring in, and that all funds must be "accounted" for, as being used solely for the "charitable" purposes as laid out in the charity's own statement of its aims and purpose.
P.S. Who therefore is responsible for vetting and publishing those accounts? Can a charity in the U.S. or U.K. refuse to divulge its accounts?
